Job summary

SAN JOAQUIN COLLEGE OF LAW seeks a dynamic attorney to join its Pro Bono Program as Supervising Attorney for Re-Entry Legal Services. The role may be structured as Supervising or Directing Attorney depending on experience and leadership.

Under the Director of Pro Bono & Strategic Partnerships, you will expand and operate the Re-Entry project, recruit volunteers, develop training, build partnerships, and supervise staff, with options for Fresno, Merced, Visalia, or remote work.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice law in California; 2+ years (supervising) / 5+ years (directing) experience preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of project management experience.
• Entrepreneurial spirit, goal-oriented, and organized.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, including public speaking.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Experience recruiting and managing volunteers preferred.
• Empathetic advocacy for clients under stress.
• Experience working with diverse communities and backgrounds.
• Confident representing CCLS in committees and legal groups.
• Ability to travel; CA driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Collaborative team player; commitment to mission and values.

Responsibilities

• Design, expand, and operate the Re-Entry Legal Services Project under supervision.
• Recruit, manage, train, support, and recognize volunteers withDirector.
• Create and maintain volunteer training materials for the project.
• Develop relationships with community partners to sustain referral pipelines.
• Develop client-facing materials explaining services and benefits.
• Oversee program database and collect data for evaluation and reporting.
• Attend regular meetings and collaborate with external legal service organizations.
• Assist in policy development, MCLE training, and staff development.
