Brown Advisory is seeking a dynamic leader to head Fund Operations, overseeing private and hedge fund activities and coordinating with legal, compliance, and business stakeholders. You will drive process improvements, manage vendor relationships, and guide a growing team across multiple jurisdictions.

The role requires 8–12 years in fund operations, experience with alternative funds, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 8–12 years Fund Operations experience.
• Experience with hedge funds and private equity/alternative funds.
• Vendor contract negotiation experience.
• Management and creation of vendor SLAs.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and professional.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and lead private and hedge fund operations across vehicles.
• Strengthen vendor and custodian relationships with focus on service levels.
• Manage capital activity: calls, distributions, subscriptions, redemptions.
• Document end‑to‑end workflows to scale fund operations.
• Develop and mentor fund operations staff.
• Collaborate with governance and compliance on valuations and regulatory reporting.
• Lead presentations for Fund Boards and coordinate with stakeholders.
• Coordinate launches, mergers, and closures of funds with legal and internal teams.
• Capture enhancement requests to improve processes and leverage new tech.
