Brown Advisory seeks a seasoned Fund Operations leader to oversee private and hedge fund operations, drive process improvements, and manage vendor partnerships. You will guide capital activity, ensure regulatory compliance, and mentor a small Baltimore‑based team to support firm growth.

Key responsibilities include leading the valuation process, coordinating with legal and compliance, and presenting to fund boards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Masters/Advanced Degree preferred.
• 8–12 years Fund Operations experience.
• Experience with alternative funds – Hedge Funds and Private Equity.
• Vendor contract negotiation experience.
• Management and creation of vendor SLAs.
• Superior analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Superior written and oral communication skills.
• Highly organized and detail‑oriented.
• Diligent work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and provide strategic leadership of private and hedge fund operations.
• Strengthen Brown Advisory’s relationship with fund vendors and custodians with focus on partnership and SLA adherence.
• Oversee capital activity related to private fund vehicles – capital calls, distributions, subscriptions, redemptions.
• Document end‑to‑end workflow for alternative fund operations to build scale and improve service.
• Manage and develop fund operations talent (Baltimore team of three).
• Join and participate in the Firm’s Valuation Committee for fair valuation and SEC compliance.
• Ensure regulatory reporting in partnership with compliance and legal teams.
• Lead presentations with Fund Boards and align messaging with stakeholders.
• Coordinate launch, merging, and closing of all funds with legal and internal teams.
• Collect and document enhancement requests to improve fund operations.
• Execute ad‑hoc projects with internal groups to deliver key results.
• Advocate for clients and firm through vendor contract and SLA negotiations.
