Job summary

Brown Advisory is seeking a dynamic leader to guide its Fund Operations team, overseeing private and hedge fund activities, ensuring compliance, and driving scalable processes. You will partner with vendors, manage capital events, and mentor a small team across offices while coordinating board materials and regulatory reporting.

The role requires 8–12 years in fund operations, strong contract negotiation skills, and a proactive, analytical mindset in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• 8–12 years of fund operations experience.
• Experience with hedge funds and private equity is preferred.
• Vendor contract negotiation and SLAs experience.
• Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
• Curiosity and continuous improvement mindset with technology awareness.

Responsibilities

• Oversee strategic leadership of private and hedge fund operations and related vehicles.
• Strengthen relationships with fund vendors and custodians to ensure high service levels.
• Manage capital activity including calls, distributions, subscriptions, and redemptions.
• Document end-to-end workflows to scale fund operations for growth.
• Develop and mentor fund operations talent across offices.
• Participate in Valuation Committee and ensure SEC compliance.
• Lead regulatory reporting in partnership with compliance and legal teams.
• Prepare board materials and coordinate messaging with stakeholders.
• Coordinate launches, mergers, and closures of funds with legal and internal teams.
• Capture enhancement requests from stakeholders to improve processes.
