Ally is seeking a hands-on Principal Software Engineer to lead dealer-facing applications powering critical business interactions. You will drive secure, scalable platforms across front-end, back-end, APIs, and cloud infra with focus on usability, reliability, and production excellence.

You will mentor engineers, shape engineering standards, and collaborate with product and operations to continually improve the dealer experience. Ally values growth, inclusion, and total rewards.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end full-stack engineering across front-end, back-end, APIs and cloud infra.
• Design and build secure REST APIs and microservices with Node.js, NestJS and TypeScript.
• Develop and maintain AWS backend stack (Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions, S3, CloudFront).
• Own release management: planning, deployment readiness, rollback, production support.
• Mentor engineers and drive engineering standards and best practices.
• Collaborate with product, architecture, and operations to improve dealer experiences.
