Job summary

Cengage Group is seeking a technology leader to drive AI-enabled education platforms. You will lead remote software teams, align technology with product goals, and ensure high-availability enterprise software across content systems and workflows.

You will collaborate with product, design, and learning teams, emphasizing customer outcomes and data-driven decision-making in a fast-paced, remote-first environment. A strong GenAI and cloud skillset is essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and recent, relevant work experience.
5 years of technology leadership experience, including developing technology strategies and leading distributed teams across multiple time zones.
Solid understanding of generative AI concepts and GenAI toolkits.
Experience modernizing legacy architectures and migrating to cloud-native platforms.
Experience with public clouds (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization plus IaC tooling.

Responsibilities

Lead all aspects of critical education technology systems.
Build and lead remote software engineering teams using agile methods.
Partner with product and design to align technology with customer outcomes.
Define user stories, prioritize backlog, and ensure timely high-quality releases.
Stay current with GenAI trends and integrate into roadmaps.
Oversee performance analytics and post-release evaluations for improvements.
