Job summary

FUJIFILM Biotechnologies seeks a Principal Data/AI Engineer to shape the technical strategy and architecture for enterprise-scale data platforms powering analytics and AI-driven solutions.

You will design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines, mentor junior engineers, and promote best practices in data quality, observability, and conformance with GxP and FDA requirements. The role has global impact across biotech initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, AI/ML Engineering, or related field.
• 12+ years of professional experience in data/software engineering, AI/ML engineering, or cloud platform engineering.
• Proven experience using Python and SQL.
• Extensive experience building and maintaining data pipelines using modern frameworks (Airflow, dbt).
• Familiarity with biotech or life sciences systems and regulatory compliance frameworks (GxP, FDA, EMA).

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and maintain scalable batch and streaming pipelines on the Snowflake Data Platform.
• Deliver ML/GenAI solutions using managed cloud services (AWS, Azure, Snowflake Cortex).
• Establish data quality standards, observability, and lineage; ensure regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to align data and AI solutions with business needs.
• Lead design reviews and cross-team architecture forums; mentor junior engineers.
