Job summary

Tiny Town Childcare & Learning Center - Kent and Painesville is seeking an Older Preschool Teacher to guide 4–5 year olds as they prepare for Pre‑K and Kindergarten. You will foster early academics, independence, and social-emotional growth through engaging, hands-on activities.

You may also assist with the school‑age program during busy times, while maintaining strong routines and collaborations with families and staff.

Qualifications

• Experience working with preschool-aged children preferred.
• Early childhood education coursework or credential preferred (or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to meet all state licensing requirements, including background checks and trainings.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lessons for 4–5‑year‑olds, including early literacy, math readiness, science exploration, and creative play.
• Maintain a safe, structured, and nurturing classroom environment.
• Support children’s social‑emotional growth through positive guidance, modeling, and conflict‑resolution strategies.
• Prepare children for Pre‑K and Kindergarten expectations through routines, self‑help skills, and early academics.
• Communicate professionally with families about daily activities, progress, and classroom needs.
• Maintain classroom organization, cleanliness, and daily routines.
• Complete required documentation, attendance, and incident reports.
• Collaborate with coworkers and leadership to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Occasionally assist with school‑age children during breaks, early dismissals, or staffing needs.
• Follow all state licensing rules, center policies, and safety procedures.
