Job summary

Countryside YMCA's Children's Center in Lebanon, OH is seeking an experienced Lead Teacher to guide a classroom and mentor fellow staff. As part of a nonprofit dedicated to youth development, you'll own your classroom's success while ensuring compliance with Ohio Preschool Content Standards, Step Up to Quality, USDA CACFP, and ODJFS requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience as a lead teacher in early childhood education.
• Knowledge of Ohio Preschool Content Standards and Step Up to Quality.
• Familiarity with USDA CACFP and ODJFS requirements.
• Ability to monitor child development and communicate with families.

Responsibilities

• Owns classroom operations with developmentally appropriate activities and supervise children.
• Manage Step Up to Quality documentation, staff interviews, and credentialing requirements.
• Attend to children's daily needs including dressing, feeding, and monitoring activities.
• Support children's emotional, social, and physical growth and positive self-concept.
• Identify signs of developmental or emotional concerns and communicate with parents/guardians.
• Guide classroom behavior using developmentally appropriate discipline strategies.
• Teach healthy habits around eating, resting, and personal hygiene.
• Sanitize and maintain toys, furniture, and classroom equipment.
• Keep detailed records of observations, activities, meals, and medications for each child.
• Handle additional duties as assigned.
