Tiny Town Childcare & Learning Center - Kent and Painesville is seeking an Older Preschool Teacher to guide 4–5 year olds as they prepare for Pre‑K and Kindergarten. You will foster early academics, independence, and social-emotional growth through engaging, hands-on activities.

You may also assist with the school‑age program during busy times, while maintaining strong routines and collaborations with families and staff.

Qualifications

• Experience working with preschool-aged children preferred.
• Early childhood education coursework or credential preferred (or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to meet all state licensing requirements, including background checks and trainings.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lessons for 4–5‑year‑olds, including early literacy, math readiness, science exploration, and creative play.
• Maintain a safe, structured, and nurturing classroom environment.
• Support children’s social‑emotional growth through positive guidance, modeling, and conflict‑resolution strategies.
• Prepare children for Pre‑K and Kindergarten expectations through routines, self‑help skills, and early academics.
• Communicate professionally with families about daily activities, progress, and classroom needs.
• Maintain classroom organization, cleanliness, and daily routines.
• Complete required documentation, attendance, and incident reports.
• Collaborate with coworkers and leadership to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Occasionally assist with school‑age children during breaks, early dismissals, or staffing needs.
• Follow all state licensing rules, center policies, and safety procedures.

Position Overview

The Older Preschool Teacher leads a classroom of 4–5‑year‑olds who are preparing for Pre‑K and Kindergarten. This role focuses on building early academic skills, independence, social‑emotional development, and strong daily routines through hands‑on, engaging activities.

This teacher may occasionally assist with our school‑age program when needed, supporting transitions, activities, or supervision during busier times.

Experience in early childhood is preferred, and candidates must meet or be willing to work toward meeting state licensing requirements for preschool teaching.

• Flexibility to support school‑age children when needed.
