Job summary

Little Scholars Learning Center in Chelsea, Manhattan is seeking a caring Lead Preschool Teacher to create a safe, engaging classroom where young children learn through play and meaningful daily experiences. You will work with families and fellow educators to support each child's social-emotional, cognitive, physical, and language development, while maintaining a warm, organized environment.

This full-time position offers Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM-4:00 PM, a competitive hourly rate of $24-$27, and

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or a related field, with at least 12 ECE credits
• At least 1 year of experience working with young children
• Familiarity with early childhood curriculum and developmentally appropriate practices
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with children, families, and colleagues
• Patience, empathy, reliability, and a nurturing approach to early childhood education
• Ability to meet applicable state and licensing requirements for the position
• Ability to reliably commute to 600 Avenue of the Americas, New York, NY 10011

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead age-appropriate, play-based learning activities
• Create a warm, safe, and organized classroom environment
• Adapt activities and lesson plans to children's developmental needs
• Observe and document children's progress and development
• Build positive relationships with children and communicate with families
• Maintain appropriate classroom supervision and safety standards
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other team members
• Support a positive and inclusive learning environment
