Job summary

Little Scholars Learning Center is hiring an experienced Lead Toddler Teacher for our early childhood education program in Brooklyn, NY. This full-time on-site role focuses on planning developmentally appropriate, play-based lessons for children ages 1-2 years old.

You will lead daily routines, support all areas of development, and collaborate with families and center leadership to maintain a safe, nurturing environment. Position requires commute to 4123 Avenue U, Brooklyn.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field
• At least 12 college credits in Early Childhood Education
• At least one year of preschool, daycare, childcare, or early childhood teaching experience
• Knowledge of early childhood curriculum and developmentally appropriate practice
• Strong classroom-management, communication, and teamwork skills
• Ability to reliably commute to 1502 W 1st St, Brooklyn, NY 11204

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead age-appropriate, play-based preschool lessons and classroom activities
• Create a warm, inclusive, and well-organized learning environment
• Adapt lesson plans to children’s interests, abilities, and developmental needs
• Manage classroom routines and use developmentally appropriate classroom-management practices
• Observe, assess, and document children’s learning and developmental progress
• Communicate professionally with parents and families
• Maintain active supervision and follow all health, safety, and childcare licensing requirements
• Collaborate with assistant teachers, administrators, and other early childhood educators
• Support each child’s social-emotional, cognitive, physical, and language development
