Job summary

Grand Street Settlement is seeking a Preschool Group Teacher (Head Start) to lead a dynamic classroom for children aged 3 to 5 at the Mount Eden Center in the Bronx. You will co‑teach, create engaging, play‑based learning experiences, and partner closely with families to support kindergarten readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required and on a study plan to obtain Birth-2nd grade certification.
• Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education and NYS Certification Birth-2nd grade preferred.
• Experience working with young children and passion for early childhood education.

Responsibilities

• Create meaningful learning experiences using developmentally appropriate practices to support curiosity and growth.
• Design individualized learning plans and use assessments to support child outcomes.
• Maintain accurate records and communicate with families and staff.
• Collaborate with families, adverse to building strong partnerships and supportive environments.
• Coordinate with Family Advocates and support teams to meet each child’s needs.
• Monitor and document child progress and prepare for conferences and screenings.
• Participate in coaching and professional development to continually improve teaching practices.
