Job summary

Grand Street Settlement in New York, NY, seeks a Group Teacher for a preschool classroom serving 3- to 4-year-olds at the Delancey Family & Childcare Center. You will co-teach with another teacher and manage a class of 15-20 children, coordinating with families to implement the curriculum and support diverse learners.

Requires a BA/BS in Early Childhood Education (MA/MS preferred), basic computer literacy, and active background clearance.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Early Childhood Education required; MA/MS preferred.
• Basic computer literacy (email, word processing, internet).
• Background clearance including Fingerprint screening and NYS Central Registry.
• Mandated Reporter training every 2 years and additional DOH/Head Start training requirements.
• Commitment to obtaining NY State ECE certification within five years.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate competency in child growth and development and collaborate with related service areas.
• Develop individual plans for each child with goals based on identified needs.
• Implement daily lesson plans responsive to children's needs and interests.
• Engage families to establish positive relationships and coordinate services.
• Share information with Family Advocate to ensure coordinated services; participate in case conferences as appropriate.
• Gather and maintain classroom data for ongoing assessment and planning.
• Participate in ongoing monitoring and self-assessment to adjust curriculum.
