Job summary

RRD is seeking a skilled Pre-Press Operator Lead to join our printing team in Colorado. You will review electronic files, set up layouts, determine imposition, and ensure color accuracy and quality before plate making.

Responsibilities include preparing proofs, loading files, coordinating with Customer Service and production, and mentoring junior staff. Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite on Mac/PC and strong mechanical skills are required.

Qualifications

• Must understand digital file formats (pdf, tiff, eps) across Mac/PC.
• Experience with imposition software (Mac) and Adobe Creative Suite (PC) preferred.
• Advanced color management and ability to work with various digital formats.

Responsibilities

• Review files from clients for completeness before plate making.
• Manipulate layout with desktop publishing software to fit paper dimensions.
• Determine page layout, folds, trims, bleeds, gripper, and add crop marks.
• Identify missing components and communicate with Customer Service and production.
• Load customer provided files for output and prepare color proofs when required.
• Operate CTP plate making and bending/tabbing equipment; perform quality checks.
• Participate in special projects and cross-training as needed.
