Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a skilled Preconstruction Manager in the United States to support complex water, wastewater, environmental, and civil projects. You will review designs, develop work breakdowns, and prepare estimates, mentoring a team and collaborating with design and contracts staff to ensure accurate scope and cost definitions.

You will use tools like AutoCAD, Primavera P6, Smartsheet, and Timberline to build robust estimates, track schedules, and present findings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management or similar, significant experience.
• Extensive background with water and wastewater construction including field experience.
• Proficient with estimation tools, scheduling and database software (AutoCAD, Microstation, Bluebeam, Timberline, Excel, Primavera P6, Smartsheet, SQL).
• Understanding of estimating structure, quantity takeoff, material quotations, contingency and risk models.

Responsibilities

• Review proposals, designs, drawings and specs; define scope of work and cost impacts.
• Develop work breakdown structures, take-offs, and schedules; assist with subcontractor/vendor statements of work.
• Collaborate with design teams to develop design-build estimates.
• Develop reports and presentations; analyze historical data.
