Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; certificate/associate degree in Machine Tool Technology.
  • Minimum of five years of industry experience; teaching experience preferred.
  • Must be a Certified Welding Inspector and possess welding certifications for the subject area taught; proficient in laser, cobot, and robot welding.
  • Must stay aware of current industry trends and pursue ongoing continuing education.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, update, and maintain curriculum aligned with industry and accreditation standards.
  • Oversee daily program operations and staffing.
  • Prepare budget requests and manage program budgets; purchase supplies and equipment.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for program operations, faculty, and students.
  • Prepare accreditation documents and ensure compliance with accreditation requirements.
  • Track and report student completion, placement, and licensure outcomes.
  • Build relationships with local companies employing machinists.
  • Plan and document annual advisory board meetings with industry partners.
  • Grade student work and provide feedback.
  • Stay current with emerging tools, technologies, and industry trends.
  • Monitor student progress and develop Student Success Plans.
