Job summary

Construction Material Testing in Kenner, LA seeks a Precast Concrete Inspector II to lead plant quality control for precast and prestressed production. You will verify prestressing operations, review mix designs and strength records, and decide on product acceptance according to specifications and drawings.

You will supervise Level I inspectors, assign daily coverage, and maintain QC records for PCI plant certification and DOT/owner acceptance programs.

Qualifications

• PCI Level II certification and 2+ years in a precast or prestressed plant.
• Working knowledge of PCI MNL-116/MNL-117 and state DOT precast specs.
• ACI strength testing certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Verify prestressing operations: strand certification, tensioning, elongation, detensioning, and transfer strength.
• Review mix designs, batch tickets, and strength records.
• Investigate low breaks and adjust with the plant.
• Accept or reject finished products against specifications and shop drawings.
• Dispost repairs and maintain QC records for PCI/DOT programs.
• Supervise Level I inspectors; assign daily coverage and review records.
