Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Precast Concrete Inspector II to lead plant quality control for precast and prestressed production or perform owner and agency inspections for DOT programs. You verify prestressing operations, review mix designs and strength records, accept or reject finished products, and maintain QC records to PCI/DOT standards.

The role includes supervising Level I inspectors, assigning daily coverage, and ensuring documentation meets PCI certification and DOT

Qualifications

• PCI Level II Quality Control Certification current and 2+ years in a certified precast or prestressed plant.
• Working knowledge of PCI MNL-116 and MNL-117 and state DOT precast specs.
• ACI Concrete Strength Testing Technician certification preferred.
• Able to hold production line to specification when schedule is tight.

Responsibilities

• Verify prestressing operations: strand certification, tensioning, elongation, detensioning, transfer strength.
• Review mix designs, batch tickets, and strength records.
• Investigate low breaks and adjust with the plant.
• Accept or reject finished products against specs and shop drawings.
• Disposition repairs; maintain QC records for PCI/DOT programs.
• Supervise Level I inspectors; assign daily coverage and review records.
