Job summary

Little Scholars Child Development Center is seeking a qualified Lead GSRP Teacher to lead a four-year-old Pre-K classroom. The role focuses on planning, implementing, and evaluating a developmentally appropriate, play-based program aligned with state standards and center expectations.

You will collaborate with the Associate Teacher, aides, families, and the Director of GSRP to ensure compliance with MiLEAP licensing and program standards, while documenting progress and guiding the teaching team

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree is required and official transcripts/credential documentation must be provided before employment begins.
• Michigan teaching certificate with an Early Childhood Education ZA or ZS endorsement, Birth–Kindergarten/PK–3 endorsement, or a bachelor’s degree with a preschool teaching specialization.
• Must meet Michigan Child Care Licensing requirements and clear criminal history, fingerprinting, Central Registry, and sex offender registry before unsupervised contact with children.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate, play-based Pre-K learning experiences aligned with state standards and curriculum.
• Prepare and submit weekly lesson plans; provide large- and small‑group instruction, literacy, math, science, and social‑emotional learning activities.
• Supervise and support the classroom team (Associate Teacher, aides, substitutes) and engage families and the Director of GSRP; ensure compliance with program standards.
• Maintain audit-ready records in GSRP MISTAR; document student progress and prepare for parent conferences and home visits.

Education

Bachelor’s degree with endorsement/major in Early Childhood Education or Child Development
