Job summary

PACCAR seeks a Powertrain Test Lab Engineer to design, develop, and implement automation and control systems for engine test cells within the Engine Test Laboratory. You will enhance testing tools, support calibration and validation, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve test quality and efficiency.

The role requires a BS in Engineering and at least 7 years of automation experience in engine test labs; familiarity with AVL and Siemens hardware is preferred.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Engineering (Electrical, Computer, Mechanical) or related discipline.
• Minimum 7 years work experience in automation and control systems for engine test lab facilities.
• Proficiency using AVL test cell automation systems and Siemens facility hardware.
• Basic knowledge of diesel engine and exhaust aftertreatment system operation and control systems.
• Ability to work with ETL staff, fostering teamwork and employee development.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team; self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement automation and control systems for engine test cells and facility operations.
• Support engineering organizations by supplying, improving, and maintaining testing tools used for calibrating, evaluating, and validating hardware and software systems.
• Support calibration, evaluation, and validation activities through continuous improvement of testing tools.
• Support facility upgrades and new test cell development initiatives.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to improve test quality, automation, safety, and operational efficiency.
• Research and implement new automation, instrumentation, and testing technologies.
