Job summary

Knowledge Builders Inc in New York seeks an Expert-level Software Developer to lead NYS HCR’s PowerBuilder portfolio after the loss of the agency’s lead developer. You will develop, enhance, and support mission-critical PowerBuilder applications to maintain production stability.

Work independently in a large, mature codebase using the PowerBuilder Foundation Classes with an Oracle backend, and contribute to modernization while transferring knowledge to designated State staff.

Qualifications

• 84+ months practical PowerBuilder development experience.
• Experience with PowerBuilder Foundation Classes (PFC) and DataWindow technology.
• Experience developing PowerBuilder applications with an Oracle database.
• Lead or primary production-support experience for PowerBuilder apps.

Responsibilities

• Lead developer for HCR's PowerBuilder applications with day-to-day ownership.
• Design, develop, test, and implement enhancements in PFC components and DataWindow tech.
• Develop and maintain Oracle database components, including PL/SQL procedures.
• Diagnose and resolve production issues across app and database layers.
• Translate business requirements into application changes with staff.
• Document code structure, rules, build, and deployment procedures.
• Support modernization by sharing knowledge with State staff.
