Job summary

Nexus Engineering Group is an employee-owned, full-service EPCm firm seeking an Electrical Engineer to develop basic electrical designs for power distribution, one-line drawings, load studies and equipment lists.

You will spend time in the office, but also visit client facilities and project sites to gather field data and support design development, with mentorship from senior engineers and opportunities for licensure support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
• 1+ year of experience in power distribution, utility coordination, or control system calculations and design.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specs, standards, and equipment documentation.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD 2-D CAD; 3-D CAD is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Gather and analyze technical data to prepare basic electrical engineering designs for client projects.
• Develop power and electrical distribution designs, including electrical one-line drawings.
• Perform electrical load studies and the supporting engineering calculations.
• Prepare power equipment lists and support selection of transformers, switchgear, motors, UPS, and related equipment.
• Develop area classification documents and lighting/HT designs.
• Apply industry and client standards to engineering work products.
• Submit completed work to senior staff for client presentation review.
• Visit client facilities to collect field data and support design development.
