Job summary

Ideal candidates have a BS in Electrical Engineering, 7+ years in protection engineering, and PE license preferred. Master’s degree and PE credentials enhance candidacy. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology required.
• Master’s degree preferred for advanced roles.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred where available.
• Minimum 7+ years of experience in protection engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Perform analysis of protection systems for transmission and substation facilities, including disturbance monitoring and misoperation identification.
• Review and approve work of engineering contractors.
• Define and update company processes to ensure compliance with standards and regulatory requirements.
• Audit internal processes and support documentation for compliance.
• Monitor and manage projects related to corrective action plans.
• Serve as SME during audits and represent the company on regional/national committees.
• Mentor engineers and cross-department staff; provide technical leadership on complex projects.
• Travel to worksites on an as-needed basis.

Education

Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology

Master’s Degree preferred

Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred

7+ years of experience in protection engineering or related field
