Job summary

Astemo Americas, Inc. is seeking an experienced Engineer to join our Power Steering Test Group. The role leads projects involving spec bench testing, HIL testing, HIL system development, and tuning for HIL and vehicle platforms.

The ideal candidate will work with US and JPN power steering teams in a hybrid structure (3 days on-site). Strong testing, tuning, and collaboration skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 10 years of automotive industry experience.
• 3 years operating a HIL bench using VI-CarRealTime and Concurrent RT.
• 3 years testing power steering hardware and software.
• Experience with Vector CANape and CANalyzer.
• Experience with 3-D CAD creation and 2-D drawings.

Responsibilities

• Lead and/or support hardware and software spec testing for prototype development and part verification.
• Software tuning of power steering systems on HIL and on vehicle.
• Create electrical wiring/automotive harnesses for bench and vehicle testing.
• Develop control system software using Matlab, Simulink, and Control Desk.
• Conduct root cause analysis to improve design activities.
• Validate supplier test results and support on-site troubleshooting.
