Job summary

Veolia North America seeks a skilled Operating Engineer to support wastewater treatment and power house operations. The role encompasses monitoring gas engines, boilers, pumps and control systems, with responsibilities spanning startup/shutdown, logkeeping, and adjustment of process parameters to meet operational targets.

Candidates should have a High School Diploma or GED, 4 years of experience in plants with high-pressure boilers, and a First Class Operating Engineer license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED is required.
• Four years of experience operating power house equipment in plants containing high-pressure boilers.
• ASOPE First Class Operating Engineer License is required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control gas engine generators, boilers, pumps and related equipment in a power plant.
• Make manual adjustments on equipment and maintain logs and charts.
• Respond to equipment issues, start/stop equipment, and coordinate maintenance as needed.
• Maintain maintenance logs, inventories, and records of boiler chemicals and reagents.
• Ensure safety and housekeeping in an industrial plant environment.
