Job summary

RTX (Raytheon) in McKinney, TX seeks a Principal Power & Analog Design Engineer to join the Multi-Product Power & Digital (MPD) department. The role focuses on designing FPGAs, circuit cards, and analog/power electronics for missiles, radars, and electronic warfare systems.

You will work across disciplines to define requirements, architectures, and verification strategies. You will lead design and analyses, collaborate with ECAD drafters, and guide integration and testing throughout the product

Qualifications

• Degree in STEM and 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with linear converters and non-isolated topologies (buck, boost, buck-boost).
• Experience with isolated topologies (flyback, half-bridge, full-bridge, forward, push-pull, resonant).
• Experience with EMI filter design, analysis, and testing.
• Experience with transformer/inductor design and testing.
• Schematic capture and PCB layout CAD proficiency.
• Proficiency with MATLAB, MathCAD, Mathematica, or similar.

Responsibilities

• Drive requirements decomposition.
• Lead trade studies and define architecture at circuit card/sub-system level.
• Lead power converter specification development.
• Lead design, analysis, testing, and documentation of analog and power conversion circuit cards.
• Collaborate with ECAD drafters on layout and stack-up definitions.
• Plan and execute integration and verification activities in labs.
• Provide product test and troubleshooting support; assist root-cause investigations.
• Define schedules for circuit card and sub-system tasks.
• Drive execution to budget and schedule; identify risks and opportunities.
• Lead medium-sized teams; coach and delegate to junior engineers.
• Serve as subject-matter expert and lead technical reviews.
• Support customer interactions and relations; contribute to roadmaps and improvements.
