Zusammenfassung

Lyten is seeking a Product Design Engineer to lead the mechanical design and integration of next-generation pouch battery systems. You will own cell architecture, engineering drawings, and BOM strategy from concept through pilot and production.

The ideal candidate will bring strong technical leadership, cross-functional influence, and hands-on battery design expertise to deliver robust, scalable, and high-performance products in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifikationen

• BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 3+ years hands-on experience in cell design in high-volume battery manufacturing.
• Proficient in SolidWorks CAD and PLM/PDM systems.
• Experience with data analysis tools (Python, R, MATLAB, Excel).
• Understanding of battery quality control methods (Hi-Pot, dimensional analysis, CT scans, weld testing, leak testing).
• Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC).
• Strong understanding of pouch cell architecture, cell electrochemistry and battery performance trade-offs.
• Experience working with cross-functional NPI or pilot builds in a fast-paced environment.

Aufgaben

• Lead design and release of pouch cell assembly drawings, specifications, CAD models, and BOMs.
• Own electrode layout, stack architecture, and mechanical containment design.
• Drive design-for-manufacturability and scale-up readiness.
• Lead DFMEA/PFMEA, tolerance stack-up, and engineering change management.
• Resolve complex assembly and integration challenges (tabs, sealing, electrolyte distribution, swelling).
• Translate manufacturability into robust design rules.
• Lead DOE planning and statistical analysis to optimize performance.
• Establish in-process quality control and inspection criteria.
• Drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality, and supply chain.
• Support supplier technical reviews and cost reduction initiatives.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership.
