Lyten, Inc. in San Jose, CA is seeking a Sr Battery Engineer focused on pouch and prismatic cell design to drive our development from concept through pilot production and manufacturing scale-up.

The ideal candidate holds a MS/BS in a battery-related field with 4+ years of hands-on experience in pouch/prismatic cells, and a strong track record of transitioning products from R&D to mass production. Expect data‑driven design work, collaboration with manufacturing, and potential equity and bonus

Qualifications

• MS/BS in a relevant field with 4+ years of battery cell design or equivalent.
• Extensive hands-on pouch cell product design and development; prismatic know‑how preferred.
• Proven track record moving battery products from R&D to pilot/mass production.
• Strong data analysis skills using R and Python; experience with JMP/Minitab is a plus.
• Deep understanding of cell mechanical design and manufacturing processes.
• Experience with cell safety, formation, and performance trade-space analysis.

Responsibilities

• Drive decision making on material selection, electrode design, and stack configuration.
• Lead pouch and prismatic cell design from concept to production-ready products.
• Advance DFx/DFM initiatives and design for assembly improvements.
• Translate product requirements into battery performance targets and tests.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, process, quality and cross-functional teams.
• Write technical reports and modeling insights for executives and customers.
