Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years experience as a journeyman plumber.
• Cross Connection Certification or Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester Certification required within 12 months of employment.
• Journeyman license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides lead supervision for project helpers.
• Coordinates and assigns specific job duties.
• Ensures quality, quantity, and thoroughness of helper duties.
• Interprets and clarifies work orders for plumbing duties.
• Evaluates to ensure requests comply with regulatory codes.
• Responds with time frame of completion and cost estimate.
• Orders material according to specifications.
• Interprets blueprints to determine material lists.
• Evaluates inventory and re-orders materials to maintain stock.
• Assists staff with related work requests to determine needs.
• Draws rough sketches to ensure understanding of requests.
• Measures items or areas to fabricate or submit measurements to vendor for cost estimate.
• Uses hand and power tools to fabricate as needed.
• Uses equipment to perform work by specification.
• Measures parts and equipment to duplicate.
• Installs plumbing equipment submitted by vendor.
• Evaluates to ensure meeting design specifications.
• Assembles and installs equipment as specified by manufacturer.
• Provides certification testing of backflow prevention devices.
• Tests and installs devices to meet regulatory codes.
• Submits certification tests to regulatory agencies.
• Performs other duties to meet department goals.
• Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
• Under supervision, assist in achieving department goals with fabrication/repair per sketches or specifications.
