Job summary

Blue River Technology, based in Santa Clara, CA, is seeking a Principal Site Reliability Engineer for the Platform organization. You will help scale automation and robotics initiatives with a Kubernetes-based platform and API services, mentoring engineers and guiding architectural direction.

Qualifications

• Min. of 8 years of deep experience building and maintaining infrastructure for data-intensive, high-availability applications.
• Six years building and maintaining public cloud solutions.
• Deep understanding of cloud orchestration tools such as Kubernetes and Terraform.
• Deep understanding of securing cloud infrastructure (AWS and Kubernetes).
• Experience with Golang (preferred), Python, JavaScript, or Rust.
• Experience with CI/CD tooling including GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, ArgoCD Image Updater, and Artifactory.

Responsibilities

• Architect, scale, and own essential infrastructure.
• Build and maintain a Kubernetes-based platform supporting multiple teams and services.
• Build backend services in Golang to support autonomous systems.
• Partner with product teams to launch new products on the platform.
• Grow our high availability infrastructure while maintaining uptime metrics.
• Build tooling to support our platform and development teams.
• Perform end-to-end performance analysis and implement robust solutions.
• Collaborate with cloud vendors and external technical support for upgrades and rapid problem resolution.
• Participate in on-call rotation and perform root cause analysis with postmortems.
• Design and maintain observability infrastructure, dashboards, alerts, and log aggregation.
• Collaborate with security to conduct risk assessments and maintain risk registers.
