Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a skilled Software Asset Manager in Wisconsin to lead SAM initiatives, reclaim software, and ensure license compliance. You will work with SAMPro, ServiceNow, and various deployment tools to maintain software asset integrity and support vendor audits.

Ideal candidates have 6+ years in software asset management, strong leadership, and AWS experience, with preferred ServiceNow SAMPro exposure.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience using build and deployment tools: Jenkins, GitHub, or Artifactory.
• 4+ years of AWS experience.
• 2+ years of team leadership experience.
• 4+ years of direct software asset management and license reconciliation in a SAM team.
• 5+ years of ServiceNow experience (preferred).
• 2+ years of ServiceNow SAMPro module experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Establish and automate software reclamation using SAMPro and other tools.
• Identify software non-use, communicate reclamation actions, revoke entitlements, and remove installations.
• Perform routine compliance reconciliations to establish Effective License Positions (ELPs).
• Analyze entitlement data against active installations to identify gaps and over-licensing.
• Support lead SAMs with vendor software audits through data and reports.
• Normalize and match discovery data from Jamf, SCCM, Intune, and Aternity.
• Resolve discrepancies between discovery feeds, procurement repositories, and user directories.
• Maintain software asset record integrity.
• Update software catalog entries, publishers, and SKUs in the SAM repository.
• Author and maintain SOPs and end-to-end workflows for software requests and reclamation cycles.

Job description

• Establish and automate software reclamation using SAMPro and other tools


• Identify software non-use, communicate reclamation actions, revoke entitlements, and remove software installations


• Perform routine compliance reconciliations to establish Effective License Positions (ELPs) for assigned software vendors


• Analyze entitlement data against active installations to identify compliance gaps, financial exposure, or over-licensing


• Compile technical data, reports, and documentation to support lead SAMs during formal vendor software audits


• Normalize and match raw software discovery data from Jamf, SCCM, Intune, and Aternity


• Resolve discrepancies between discovery feeds, procurement repositories, and user directories


• Maintain software asset record integrity


• Update software catalog entries, publisher names, and SKUs in the SAM repository


• Author and maintain SOPs, process maps, operational guidelines, and end-to-end workflows for software requests, reclamation cycles, and license allocation

Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification


• At least 6 years of experience using build and deployment tools (Jenkins, GitHub, or Artifactory)


• At least 4 years of experience with AWS


• At least 2 years of team leadership experience


• 4+ years of direct, operational experience performing software asset management, license reconciliation, or data normalization within a structured SAM team (preferred)


• 5+ years of experience with ServiceNow (preferred)


• 2+ years of experience in the Service Now SAMPro module (preferred)
