HK Tech is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer (Lead) to build and run an AWS-based landing zone and Kubernetes platform for a HIPAA-regulated public-health data platform. Hybrid, Salt Lake City, UT; you will own the platform from code to production and work with a focused team.

This role requires deep cloud infra expertise, strong security controls, and the ability to hand over a battle-tested environment with documentation and runbooks to the State.

Qualificações

• 7+ years in infrastructure or platform engineering
• 4+ years running production Kubernetes on AWS (EKS)
• Experience operating a regulated workload (HIPAA, FedRAMP, PCI)
• Deep Terraform or OpenTofu: multi-account orgs, modules, remote state, policy as code
• Hands-on with VPC design, Transit Gateway, PrivateLink, IAM Identity Center, KMS, Aurora PostgreSQL, MSK or Kafka, S3 Object Lock, ECR and AWS Backup
• GitOps and CI: Argo CD or Flux, Helm, GitHub Actions
• Observability: Prometheus and Grafana, OpenTelemetry, and log shipping

Responsabilidades

• Build the AWS Organization as code with accounts, OUs, MFA, CloudTrail and Config
• Design private-only VPCs across 3 AZs with firewall and connectivity patterns
• Run Amazon EKS with Bottlerocket, Karpenter and security standards
• Operate data services: Aurora PostgreSQL, MSK, S3 with Object Lock and replication
• Own the delivery pipeline: GitHub Actions with OIDC, OpenTofu plan and apply, Argo CD, Kyverno
• Keep the platform running: write runbooks, monthly restore drills and on-call for incidents
• Report and hand over: document and transfer to State team with runnable setup
• Lead a second platform engineer and review changes
