Job summary

Apkudo seeks a Lead Software Engineer to own the integration between the platform and field devices, and to drive the deployment path for Apkudo software, CV models, and agents across a distributed fleet.

You will build telemetry, health diagnostics, and a unified control surface, while collaborating with robotics, design, and cross-functional teams to ensure reliable production deployments on real hardware.

Qualifications

• Production backend or full-stack experience with technical leadership.
• Distributed systems fundamentals: services, APIs, messaging.
• Deployment/infrastructure experience — artifact distribution, versioning, staged rollout, rollback.
• Observability in practice: instrumentation, metrics, logs, alerting.
• You design interfaces as products; API/SDK design experience.
• Willingness to work across hardware, robotics, operations teams.

Responsibilities

• Build the integration layer between machines and the Apkudo platform.
• Own the deployment mechanism for releases, CV models, and agents.
• Build remote monitoring: telemetry, health, and diagnostics.
• Deliver a unified control surface to configure and operate machines and apps.
• Partner with robotics engineers on interface design.
• Partner with design on operator experience.
• Collaborate with Device AI and Device Passport across the platform.
