Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field is required; alternatively, 9+ years in Platform Engineer roles.
• 6+ years of platform engineering and infrastructure focus with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, Rancher).
• Direct ownership of Kubernetes platforms (not just deployed apps).
• Hands-on Kubernetes cluster lifecycle management (on-prem and Cloud).
• Expertise in automated interaction with physical infrastructure.
• Managing cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Monitoring and log management with Nagios, Splunk, ELK.
• Backup and disaster recovery planning experience.
• Scripting in Python, PowerShell, and Bash.
• IaC and configuration tools like Ansible, Chef, Terraform.

Responsibilities

• Set strategic priorities for platform hardware, software, and network requirements.
• Lead teams responsible for monitoring and troubleshooting system performance.
• Optimize DevOps tools to support organizational needs (e.g., API Gateway, Terraform).
• Foster cross-functional collaboration to bring new features into production.
• Oversee automated and orchestrated fulfillment mechanisms for platform services.
• Lead cross-team collaboration to ensure smooth operations.
• Identify security threats and set standards for compliant security.
• Develop and implement security and resiliency policies aligned with regulations.
• Evaluate high-level design docs and provide feedback.
• Present findings from technical research for system changes.
• Maintain vendor relationships for mutual opportunities.
