Position Summary
Join CVS Health as a Lead Architect. You will work with both full-time employees and contracted resources to execute project work within the IT organization. Your responsibilities include designing, developing, and implementing digital platform and integration solutions, applying advanced technical expertise, and contributing to the overall technical direction of engineering projects.
- This position can work remote from anywhere in the USA.
- Design and define the technical architecture, integration architecture, and infrastructure required for solutions.
- Develop software components, write code, and implement complex functionalities according to project requirements.
- Collaborate with development teams and stakeholders to make architectural decisions, propose design patterns, and ensure scalability, performance, and maintainability.
- Leverage programming skills to design and implement features, optimize performance, and ensure code efficiency.
- Integrate software components or systems to ensure seamless communication and interoperability.
- Write and execute test cases, conduct code reviews, debug, and troubleshoot to ensure high-quality solutions.
- Participate in agile methodologies, contribute to project planning, and help drive project success.
- Explore new tools, frameworks, and techniques to improve solutions and foster innovation.
- Create and maintain documentation, share knowledge, and ensure effective collaboration.
- Design and develop API and Event architectures.
- Decompose monolithic applications to design architectures for complex projects using open-source technologies.
- Define API practices for building technological ecosystems.
- Foster an environment that empowers teams and develops team members.
- Define API governance and manage architectural debt.
- Identify API design strategies for evolution and communicate approaches.
- Manage stakeholders and interact across organizational levels.
- Focus on integration architecture and domain modeling, exploring options with teams.
- Ensure architectural alignment, course correct deviations, and evangelize API value.
- Train new technology leaders and developers on platform thinking.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years in Java, J2EE Design Patterns, Object-Oriented design, Algorithms, and Optimizations
- 5+ years building and consuming Microservices with Spring Cloud and Spring Boot
- 3+ years in API development: RESTful APIs, Spring, Web Services, JMS
- 5+ years working with SQL and relational databases (Oracle, MariaDB, MySQL)
- 3+ years leading strategic activities
- 3+ years with Kubernetes and AKS
- Strong problem-solving, collaboration, growth mindset, and delivery skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with API and CI/CD pipeline design
- Familiarity with GitHub, Groovy, Ansible, Docker, Spring Cloud, Spring Gateway
- Ability to adapt quickly to new tech and business needs
- Stakeholder engagement skills across management, teams, R&D, and customers
- Understanding of object-oriented design, design patterns, service architectures, and development lifecycle
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is $106,605.00 - $260,590.00, depending on experience, education, location, and other factors. This role may include bonuses, incentives, and equity awards.
