Job summary

Horizon Ag is seeking a Plant Manager to lead our liquid manufacturing facility in Onawa, Iowa. You will be responsible for safety, environmental compliance, quality, production, cost, reliability, and people, running the site as a business rather than just a production line.

Reporting to the Liquid Operations Manager, the role covers blending, filling, packaging, and shipment, with up to 15 direct reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in a related field.
• At least 7 years of experience leading a team in a process/manufacturing environment.
• Experience in liquid manufacturing or related industries preferred.
• Strong understanding of cost accounting concepts (COGS, margins).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; ERP experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety, environmental, and quality programs with a zero-incident mindset.
• Manage production planning, scheduling, and OEE to meet targets.
• Own plant COGS, margins, and capital projects with ROI tracking.
• Develop staffing plans and coach frontline supervisors.
• Drive continuous improvement and risk management with cross-functional partners.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and safe handling of materials.
