Job summary

Atlantic Constructors a leading commercial construction firm in the Mid-Atlantic seeks a Piping Superintendent to oversee field pipe fitting on assigned projects.

You will supervise crews, coordinate with engineering and project teams, ensure safety, quality, and on-time delivery, and manage cost controls and procurement. This role requires extensive hands-on experience and OSHA 30/CPR, with ability to read drawings and guide multi-discipline teams on Richmond-area sites.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of field pipe fitting experience
• Extensive welding, fitting, rigging knowledge
• Supervise large crews (20+)
• Knowledge of mechanical trades
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Experience with man-hour and job-cost reports
• OSHA 30 and CPR
• Ability to read isometric/orthographic drawings

Responsibilities

• Supervises field crew, subcontractors and craft activities, including method, manpower, materials, equipment, scheduling, and documentation
• Coordinates work across crafts, departments, and contractors
• Identifies and documents potential change orders
• Builds relationships with clients, subcontractors, and vendors
• Conduct weekly safety meetings
• Plan, schedule, and coordinate on-site functions
• Perform material take-offs and order tools and equipment to maximize field productivity
• Ensure quality installation of hydronic, gas, steam piping
• Manage production, procurement, and cost controls
