Job summary

Bechtel is seeking a Lead Piping Field Engineer in the Houston area to lead piping field engineering on a major API project. You will coordinate with construction, startup, quality, ES&H, and subcontractors to ensure work aligns with drawings, specs, and schedules.

A bachelor's degree in engineering and extensive piping experience are required, with a focus on safe, efficient execution. You will mentor field staff, drive staffing plans, and ensure alignment between design and field teams.

Qualifications

• Requires bachelor’s degree in engineering and 8–10 years of piping experience.
• Strong ability to supervise construction engineering work and lead field teams.
• Knowledge of work planning, AWP, and turnover packages.

Responsibilities

• Lead piping field engineers and direct construction engineering activities.
• Support staffing, competency development, and performance feedback.
• Maintain clear communication between design and field engineering.
• Coordinate with construction, subcontractors, and other disciplines on schedules and plans.
• Lead piping quantity takeoff, forecasting, and manpower planning.
• Oversee piping work packages, RFIs, and field changes.
• Review cost and schedule data and support progress reporting.
• Direct material requisitions and ensure piping materials availability.
• Coordinate subcontract activities and schedule integration.
• Ensure installation, testing, inspection, and turnover meet requirements.
• Promote Bechtel’s Zero Accident philosophy on site.
