Job summary

Tetra Tech is seeking a Mid-Senior Pipeline and Facilities Design Engineer to support pipeline, pump station, and terminal/tank projects across the U.S. This in-office role requires design engineering expertise and a background in the Oil & Gas industry.

You will lead and participate in a multidisciplinary team, develop 30%–100% design packages, perform hydraulic calculations, and coordinate with clients and suppliers. Travel up to 25% is expected for data collection and meetings.

Qualifications

• ABET accredited Engineering degree required or equivalent.
• Fundamentals of Engineering Exam (FE) preferred.
• PE licensure preferred, or willingness to attain.
• NCEES record preferred or willingness to attain.
• Experience in the Midstream Oil & Gas industry preferred.
• Strong understanding of ASME B31.4, ASME B31.8, CFR 192/195, NACE, etc.
• Experience coordinating with client stakeholders and SMEs.
• Strong written and verbal communication and leadership skills.
• Willingness to travel for on-site data gathering or meetings.
• Experience with hydraulic modeling and pipe stress modeling preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides engineering support for pipeline, pump stations, and terminal/tank projects nationwide.
• Lead role within a multi-disciplinary project team.
• Develops design drawings at 30%, 60%, 90%, IFB/IFC stages.
• Conducts hydraulic calculations, MAOP, line sizing.
• Oversees equipment specification and sizing for pumps, motors, tanks, valves.
• Participates in design reviews and develops project scopes of work.
• Coordinates procurement activities and vendor evaluations.
• Ensures compliance and permitting inputs are integrated into designs.
