E2 Consulting Engineers, LP is seeking a Dual Coating & Welding Inspector to join our team in Los Angeles. You will ensure welding procedures are qualified, radiographers certified, welders qualified, and that coatings on steel pipe and fittings comply with project standards.

You will review drawings, track inspections, and prepare detailed reports while observing safety practices, contractor performance, and code compliance throughout pipeline construction activities.

Qualifikationen

• Knowledge and experience pertaining to the skillset required to build/install natural gas transmission pipeline facilities.
• 3-5+ years of pipeline construction and/or inspection experience
• Ability to read construction drawings, alignment sheets and valve maps and translate to actual field constructability.
• Past experience inspecting the application of field coatings.
• Familiarity with DOT 192 and OSHA regulations.
• Position requires AWS CWI (or SCWI).
• NACE CIP Level 1.
• Knowledge of API 1104, ASME B31.8, NACE and SSPC.
• Word and Excel computer skills.

Aufgaben

• Be familiar with the approved construction drawings and Company specifications.
• Understanding the Contract document as it relates to duties on the project.
• Have a basic understanding of welding techniques, welding positions, welding consumables, weld preparation and welding drawing requirements; maintaining a detailed inspector's logbook.
• Submitting applicable inspection reports describing work performed so welds can be identified per standards.
• Maintain safety on the job site and report safety issues to management.
• Plan and organize inspection duties in advance.
• Discuss design changes or material substitutions with Construction Manager and proper approvals.
• Verify materials used meet Company requirements.
• Keep Chief Inspector informed of problems or anticipated issues.
• Understand QA/QC and inspection procedures.
