Job summary

DVJ Consulting Engineers in Los Angeles, CA, seeks a coating inspector to supervise and perform coating inspections on Department projects including waterworks, bridges and flood control facilities.

Under oversight of senior managers, you will prepare inspection reports, verify surface preparation, film thickness and adhesion tests, and enforce contract requirements. Candidates should have Level 2/3 NACE/SSPC certs, strong communication, and a 10+ year track record.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years in coating inspection or related field with SSPC/NACE Level 2/3 certification.
  • Familiarity with ANSI/NACE/SSPC/NSF/ASTM standards and test practices for coatings.
  • Ability to read plans, specs, provisions and other contract documents.
  • Knowledge of cathodic protection systems and field verification methods.

Responsibilities

  • Inspections of coating works and related practices on waterworks, bridges and flood control projects.
  • Preparation and submission of inspection reports and records.
  • Respond to inquiries from officials, agencies and staff; maintain open communication with stakeholders.
  • Enforce contract requirements and ensure compliance with coating specifications.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with Department staff and project teams.
