Job summary

E2 Consulting Engineers, LP seeks a Dual Coating & Welding Inspector for pipeline construction projects. You will ensure welding procedures are qualified, welders certified, and coatings applied to required standards, while maintaining detailed documentation.

The role includes inspecting other contractors, coordinating with the Construction Manager and Chief Inspector, and ensuring compliance with DOT 192, OSHA, API 1104, ASME B31.8, NACE and SSPC guidelines. Travel up to 50% is expected.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and experience building/installing natural gas transmission pipelines.
• 3–5+ years of pipeline construction and/or inspection experience.
• Ability to read construction drawings, alignment sheets and valve maps.
• Experience inspecting field applied pipeline coatings.
• Familiarity with DOT 192 and OSHA regulations.
• Ability to interpret OPM and attachments.
• AWS CWI or SCWI certification required.
• NACE CIP Level 1 certification required.
• Knowledge of API 1104, ASME B31.8, NACE and SSPC standards.

Responsibilities

• Inspect coating and welding procedures and verify qualifications.
• Review and verify field coating materials and workmanship.
• Maintain inspector's logbooks and daily inspection reports.
• Ensure safety on the job site and report issues promptly.
• Coordinate with Construction Manager and Chief Inspector on changes.
• Verify compliance with permit requirements and one-call rules.
• Witness hydrostatic testing and verify calibration paperwork.
• Coordinate with other contractors to protect gas mains and utilities.
