Job summary

Archbold Medical Center in Georgia is seeking a Phlebotomist to accurately identify patients, collect venipuncture or capillary samples, and label specimens. You will perform specimen processing, participate in special phlebotomy procedures, and follow safety policies.

The role requires initiative, leadership, and familiarity with hospital and laboratory computer systems. Qualified candidates have a high school diploma and relevant certification or MLT program, with prefer 1+ year experience;

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license with no major driving citations and able to be covered under AMC auto insurance required.
• ASCP phlebotomy certification or completion of AS degree in Medical Laboratory Technician preferred.
• At least one year phlebotomy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Correctly performs patient identification, venipuncture/capillary collection technique, and specimen labeling.
• Performs specimen processing functions accurately and efficiently.
• Correctly performs special phlebotomy procedures.
• Demonstrates initiative and leadership qualities.
• Compliance with Laboratory Safety Policies & Procedures.
• Demonstrates adequate knowledge of the hospital and laboratory computer systems.
