Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Lead/Float Phlebotomist to support multiple Patient Service Centers across the system. In this role you will perform phlebotomy, ensure accurate patient data entry, and help open and close PSC operations.

You will train and mentor PSC staff, travel to additional sites as needed, and collaborate with clinicians to reduce patient wait times while maintaining high quality and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; associate’s degree welcomed.
• Phlebotomy certification from ASCP or similar preferred.
• One or more years' PSC phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent phlebotomy and related services for all patients.
• Validate and update patient information in the BIS system.
• Collect specimens by venipuncture and capillary methods for all ages.
• Prepare specimens for transport to the laboratory.
• Perform admin tasks to open/close the PSC daily.
• Train and mentor PSC Phlebotomists as needed.
• Travel to additional PSCs and doctor's offices when required.
• Adhere to departmental policies and QA programs.
• Report to Phlebotomy Supervisor and follow direction.
• Support patient and provider satisfaction.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
