Responsibilities

  • Assist in determining donor suitability for plasmapheresis before venipuncture
  • Respond to donor reactions according to guidelines

Job description

  • Assist in determining donor suitability for plasmapheresis before venipuncture
  • Respond to and assist with donor reactions according to guidelines
  • Monitor donors and equipment to ensure donor health and product quality
  • Set up, disconnect, and operate automated plasmapheresis machines
  • Evaluate autopheresis troubleshooting displays and document exceptions
  • Ensure calibration and maintenance of autopheresis machines and associated equipment
  • Disconnect and dispose of contaminated disposable equipment
  • Clean equipment and work areas between donors
  • Maintain accurate and thorough production records
  • Ensure donor confidentiality
  • Build rapport with donors to support customer satisfaction and long-term donation
  • Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations, FDA-approved SOPs, OSHA, CLIA, cGMP, and company procedures
  • Report unsafe situations or conditions to the area lead, supervisor, or manager
  • Cross-train and work in other areas to ensure efficient center operations
Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Obtains required state licensures or certifications where applicable

  • Ability to comprehend and follow instructions to complete assigned tasks
  • Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences
  • Ability to perform within the guidance of oral or written instructions

  • Ability to stand for 6 to 8 hours per day
  • Ability to bend and twist neck and waist for 1-2 hours per day
  • Frequent hand movement with the ability to make fast, simple movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists
  • Ability to make precise coordinated finger movements to grasp and manipulate objects
  • Ability to walk up to 6-8 hours per day
  • Ability to lift 15 lbs., with a maximum lift of 50 lbs.
  • Hearing acuity essential
  • Color perception/discrimination; near and far vision correctable to specified levels
  • Ability to work with personal protective equipment and exposure to biological fluids, infectious organisms, electrical equipment, and extreme cold
