Job summary

The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD is seeking a certified Pharmacy Technician Lead to oversee prescription preparation, Pyxis Med Station operations, and staff scheduling under the pharmacist in charge in Houston, TX.

Responsibilities include optimizing inventory, training technicians, and assisting patients with Pharmacy Assistance Programs while ensuring compliance with Texas State Board of Pharmacy rules.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years related experience as a Certified Pharmacy Technician.
• Retail pharmacy exposure required.
• 3 years hospital exposure preferred.
• Proficient Pyxis Med Station experience required and Pharmacy Assistance Program knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Lead Pharmacy Technician duties including preparing prescriptions and managing unit-dose workflows.
• Supervise technician scheduling and staffing under PIC oversight.
• Maintain Pyxis Med Station operations and inventory.
• Support enrollment in Patient Assistance Programs to access free medications.
