Job summary

Harris Health System in the Houston area is seeking a Pharmacy Technician under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist to prepare and dispense medications across Ben Taub Hospital and Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital and affiliated clinics.

The role supports acute and primary care with a focus on safe, accurate medication distribution. Minimum qualifications include High School Diploma/GED and active registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the Texas State Board or Pharmacist Intern license; IV

Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED is required.
Texas State Board Pharmacy registration as Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacist Intern license is required.
IV Certification preferred.
CRT, Mathematics, Medical Terms, PC and Typing are required.

Responsibilities

Prepare and distribute prescribed medication and other health care products to patients and customers.
Prepare dosage medications for dispensing, unit dose packaging, counting pills and mixing medications as needed.
Compound sterile preparations; filing and inventory.
Deliver medications to patient care units and replenish automated dispensing cabinets.
Clerical duties include answering phones, stocking shelves, cash handling and data entry.
Ensure absolute accuracy and patient safety in all tasks.
