Job summary

AdventHealth is seeking a Pharmacy Technician, StaffFlex contract in Shawnee, Kansas, with a focus on delivering safe, accurate medication dispensing and collaborative patient care. You will work across shifts, support compliance, and mentor teammates in a dynamic hospital setting.

The role requires hospital pharmacy experience, strong terminology knowledge, and effective communication, with opportunities for professional growth and system-wide improvements.

Qualifications

• Strong communication, organizational, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
• Ability to follow directions and work under supervision of a pharmacist.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and English proficiency required.
• 1+ years of hospital pharmacy experience required.

Responsibilities

• Leads or contributes to compliance audits, documentation, and medication-use process improvement initiatives.
• Prepares reports, assists with compliance documentation, and supports regulatory inspections and accreditation surveys.
• Collaborates with pharmacy staff, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care across shifts and areas.
• Mentors technicians and supports onboarding, competency validation, and peer development.
• Independently prepares and dispenses patient-specific medication doses, including sterile compounding as needed.
