Job summary

Foundation Health Partners is seeking a licensed Pharmacy Technician at Fairbanks Memorial Hospital to support packaging, distribution, and record keeping of pharmaceutical supplies. Qualifications

• Requires pharmacy technician licensure in Alaska on hire.
• Pharmacy technician certification required (CPhT or ExCPT).
• Must have two years of experience in a FHP pharmacy technician role or knowledge from two years of experience.
• Must have good organizational, problem solving, math and computer skills.
• Knowledge of medication management information system software, Microsoft applications and automated dispensing systems.

Responsibilities

• Selects and prepares medications under direct supervision per patient orders.
• Identifies medications for reorder to maintain inventory.
• Compounds specialty drug products and repackages bulk meds.
• Assists in preparing and labeling IV medications, including TPN and hazardous meds.
• May perform quality control and inventory checks.
• Coordinates and supervises Pharmacy Technician Apprentice, Technician I/II, and Volunteers; supports training and appraisals.
